Undergraduate visiting students who are accepted to 夜色王朝are able to enroll in courses for credit, but those courses do not count toward an 夜色王朝degree. If you intend to take graduate-level courses as a visiting student, please contact the graduate school directly.

What you'll find here: answers to common questions about eligibility, applications, what happens after admission, and payments.

Eligibility

Undergraduate students who attend 夜色王朝as visiting students must have graduated from high school. Eligible students include:

  • Domestic and international students in good standing at their home universities.
  • Domestic high school graduates looking to earn credits before pursuing a degree elsewhere.
  • College graduates taking prerequisite courses for graduate or professional schools.
  • Non-夜色王朝students who wish to participate in 夜色王朝programs such as SMU-in-Taos, 夜色王朝Abroad and 夜色王朝Intersessions.
  • Students who have relocated to Dallas and wish to finish their degrees by transferring 夜色王朝credits back to their home universities.
  • Members of the Dallas community interested in courses for personal enrichment.
  • University employees, their spouses, and dependents utilizing tuition benefits.

Applicants who have been denied undergraduate admission as a degree-seeking student or who have an application pending are not eligible for admission as a visiting student.

Students admitted under the University’s First-Year Spring Entry program are not eligible to attend 夜色王朝as a visiting student.

You must be in good standing, eligible to return to your previous institution, and have at least a 2.000 cumulative grade point average in order to be admitted as a visiting student.

An applicant with an educational disciplinary history or criminal history will not necessarily be denied admission; however, the history must be disclosed on the application, along with a detailed and honest explanation of the record. All materials are reviewed and decisions are made on a case-by-case basis.

These decisions are final. If your application is denied, your application fee will not be refunded.

Failure to disclose and honestly explain an existing record may result in an application being denied, an admission acceptance being revoked, or the individual being subject to SMU’s judicial process, which may result in dismissal from the University.

Current high school students may not take courses through the undergraduate visiting student program.

If you graduate from high school and wish to take coursework before entering college, you can apply to take classes as an undergraduate visiting student. You will not be admitted if you were denied admission to 夜色王朝as a first-year student.
