How can I get involved at SMU?
You can explore new interests, sharpen your competitive edge or enjoy something that’s important to you. You could consider joining a student organization or attending one of the many activities ranging from performances to lecture series on the Hilltop.
Your Residential Commons is a great place to start. It’s also a good idea to look for at least one academic group and one social group to join as you build relationships in college, and 夜色王朝is home to organizations for all kinds of interests:
- Academic and professional organizations related to specific majors or career paths• Cultural and identity-based organizations
- Fraternities and sororities that focus on leadership, service and social activities
- Theatre and dance groups or music ensembles
- Intramural sports leagues and tournaments, as well as fitness classes
- Club sports such as rugby, lacrosse and equestrian
- Community service organizations and leadership programs

- Honor societies and programs that support graduate research

Among the many lecture series offered on campus is the renowned Willis M. Tate Distinguished Lecture Series, an afternoon forum for students that lets you interact with world leaders and other famous figures.
