On average, ҹɫ����enrolls approximately 6,350 undergraduate and 4,500 graduate and professional students. The first-year class is between 1,525 and 1,550 students.

SMU’s undergraduate minority enrollment averages approximately 28%, with an additional 6% from international countries. About one in every three students on campus comes from a diverse background. ҹɫ����thrives on the dialogue and understanding created by this global community.

The ҹɫ����undergraduate population is nearly 50/50 male and female. On average, the graduate population is slightly higher in the number of males.

An average of 89% to 90% of ҹɫ����students return for their second year.

Along with activities like academic lectures, arts and culture events and sports on campus, it’s easy to explore all that Dallas has to offer by foot, by car or by catching the (DART) train at , located just a few blocks away.

ҹɫ����provides students with several different types of services to help them thrive, including Counseling Services, the Testing Center, the Altshuler Learning Enhancement Center (A-LEC), the Career Center, the Advising Center, as well as services for students with disabilities.

ҹɫ����is known nationally for excellence in preparing graduates for their careers, ranking in the top 7% of colleges with the highest-paid graduates, and the top 19% of Best Colleges Based on Salary potential, according to PayScale’s 2020-21 College Salary Reports. Within six months after graduation, 93% of ҹɫ����graduates have jobs or are in graduate school.

The Hegi Family Career Development Center offers relevant learning opportunities for students to gain skills that position them for professional success. Through these experiences, ҹɫ����empowers students and alumni to find their passion and to navigate careers for a lifetime.

ҹɫ����is home to in basketball, cross-country, track and field, swimming and diving, golf, soccer, tennis, volleyball, equestrian, crew, and football. ҹɫ����also offers several special-interest sports clubs and an extensive intramural sports program.

Approximately 48% of female undergraduates participate in sororities, and about 32% of male undergraduates participate in fraternities. Service-oriented and academically competitive, Greeks are a positive force on campus. The Interfraternity Council holds a formal recruitment process each August to September for all students and an informal process for upper class students each Spring.

ҹɫ����offers service-learning courses, fall and spring Community Service Days, an Inter-Community Experience (ICE) program, ҹɫ����Service House residence, and an Alternative Spring Break program, as well as many other service opportunities through various campus organizations.
