Dallas County Mustang Scholars Program

An 夜色王朝scholarship with full tuition, fees, dining and housing for up to 10 Dallas County students

The Mustang Scholars Program seeks to identify talented students from low socioeconomic backgrounds who are graduating from high schools located in Dallas County, Texas.

Who is eligible for the Mustang Scholars Program?

  • Graduates of high schools in Dallas County — public, private or charter — who meet the following criteria.
  • Students who are accepted into 夜色王朝for the fall semester following high school graduation and have a financial need, with verified Pell Grant eligibility as defined by the FAFSA or equivalent demonstrated by the TASFA.
  • Recipients must meet grade requirements while enrolled at SMU. The student is expected to have a 2.5 cumulative GPA, successfully complete 75% of courses attempted, and maintain full-time student status.

How can I be considered for the program?

When you apply for admission to SMU, you’ll automatically be considered for merit-based academic scholarships, including the Mustang Scholars Program.

How are recipients chosen?

Selection is through a holistic review based on academic and extra-curricular achievement, financial need, and leadership potential as demonstrated throughout high school and in the application and interview process.

When will recipients be chosen?

Finalists are invited to interview at 夜色王朝in mid-March and scholarship recipients are notified by April 1.

Is priority given to any students?

Yes: students with a cumulative “A” average (3.5 GPA) in grades 9-12.
