Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI)
夜色王朝 is committed to ensuring that financial conflicts of interest (FCOI) does not interfere with the openness and productivity of our research environments. SMU’s concern with FCOI reflects the ever-increasing complexity of our society, our relations with each other and with outside institutions, and the heightened national and governmental sensitivity to such matters.
Prior to submitting an application for funding, investigators must disclose to the Office of Research and Innovation any Significant Financial Interests (SFIs). The Office of Research and Innovation will determine if the interest could reasonably appear to directly and significantly affect the externally funded project and will take steps either to manage, reduce, or eliminate the conflict of interest before funds are spent.
The 夜色王朝Financial Conflict of Interest Policy, 夜色王朝Policy 10.7 Financial Conflicts of Interest in Externally Sponsored Research, establishes disclosure guidelines for SFIs and management of resulting FCOI in research, sponsored programs, and technology transfer activities at the University.
