Dallas Historical Society Names Dean Holland 2025 History Maker
The Dean of 夜色王朝Meadows, along with nine other leaders and organizations, will be celebrated during an awards ceremony hosted by the group this November.

Earlier this month, the Dallas Historical Society named our very own Dean of 夜色王朝Meadows School of the Arts, Sam Holland, the Arts Leadership recipient for the 2025 Dallas History Makers Awards for Excellence.
Since 1981, the Dallas Historical Society has bestowed this honor on outstanding leaders of the city based on nominations from the community. Recipients of these awards are chosen for their contribution to the quality of life in Dallas in 10 categories—Arts Leadership, Business, Creative Arts, Education, Health/Sciences, Humanities/History, Philanthropy, Sports Leadership, Volunteer Community Leadership and Jubilee History Maker—all of which help shape the culture of our thriving city.
“Dean Holland’s incredible leadership has not just elevated the arts at 夜色王朝but also helped to expand Dallas’s cultural landscape, making a real and lasting impact across our community,” says 夜色王朝executive vice president and provost Rachel Davis Mersey. “This recognition is a wonderful reflection of the transformative work the Dean has done at Meadows as well as his deep commitment to the arts.”
While Dean Holland has been making his mark on the Dallas arts scene, nine other local leaders and organizations have also made an impact in other areas. Dean Holland’s fellow recipients are as follows:
- Business: Microchip Cookies, founded by Dallas entrepreneurs Julie Tobolowsky and Karleen Kusin
- Creative Arts: Tomás Bustos, artist, educator, and founder of the Fine Arts Sculpture Studio
- Education – Mary Pat Higgins, president and CEO of The Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum
- Health/Science: Dr. Robert Fine, Director of Baylor Scott & White Health’s 18 palliative care teams
- History: Harryette Ehrhardt, for her work preserving historic structures and honoring the people behind them
- Humanities: Donna Wilhelm, for philanthropic support of mental health, conservation, education, and arts organizations
- Philanthropy: Hoblitzelle Foundation
- Volunteer Community Leadership: Founders Garden Club of Dallas
- Jubilee History Maker: Friends of the Katy Trail
All 2025 recipients will be honored at the group’s 44th annual luncheon in November. Congratulations on this incredible achievement, Dean Holland!
