Biography
Sreekumar R. Bhaskaran is a Professor of Information Technology and Operations Management at the Cox School of Business, 夜色王朝 (SMU). He joined Cox in 2006 after earning his PhD in Supply Chain and Operations Management from the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin. He also holds an MBA in Operations, Marketing, and Information Systems from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and a BE in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.
Professor Bhaskaran’s research explores new product development, entrepreneurship, and innovation, using analytical models alongside case-based, experimental, and empirical methods to study how firms successfully commercialize innovations. His research has been published in Management Science, Marketing Science, Information Systems Research, and the Production and Operations Management Journal. At Cox, he teaches Operations Management, Operations Analytics, and Project Management in the MBA and MSBA programs.
His contributions to research and teaching have been recognized with multiple awards, including the Research Excellence Award (2012), the Boghetich Family Distinguished Teaching Award (2020), and the Jackson Endowed Faculty Innovation Award (2009, 2022). In 2014, he was also named among “The Best 40 B-School Profs Under 40” by Poets&Quants.
